Meet Your Therapist

It’s good to meet you — I’m Lucy. I aim to understand people as fully as possible — seeing their lives and challenges through their eyes, rather than making assumptions about who they are or what they need.

I don’t believe in telling people what to do. This seldom leads to long-lasting change. Instead, I work collaboratively, exploring situations, patterns, and choices together, opening up new perspectives on what’s happening. There is no pressure to move faster than feels comfortable, and no judgement about where you find yourself. We pay attention to what feels supportive and what doesn’t, so that therapy feels like a place you can return to and make use of in your own way.

My clinical experience has given me the privilege of working with adults across different life stages, faiths, cultural backgrounds, sexual orientations and identities. I hold an MA in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of Roehampton and am a registered member of the BACP. I'm insured, DBS cleared, and practise within a clear ethical framework to offer respectful, boundaried therapeutic work.

My Therapeutic Journey

I know what it’s like to feel unsafe, and I know how transformative it can be to find a space where safety becomes possible. My first experiences of feeling unsafe began at an early age. I was fortunate to have therapy in childhood which helped me feel contained, validated, and less alone. As adulthood brought new challenges, I found myself returning to therapy for support, often referring back to those same things my younger self needed.

I credit the relationships I had with my therapists for helping to change the course of my life. Therapy helped me to build self-compassion and self-trust. It also allowed for exploration of all the choices available to me, including the ones I couldn't see alone.

As anyone who has experienced meaningful therapy will know, it can be profoundly powerful. For me, this became the motivation to train and practise as a psychotherapist. I bring this understanding into my work with clients, offering therapeutic relationships that are thoughtful, respectful, and grounded in lived experience.
